Blepharoplasty, also known as plastic eye surgery, is one of the cheapest and easiest surgeries in aesthetic surgery. At the same time, this intervention can launch the most expressive signs of aging - overhanging and swelling in the eyelid area. During the operation, which also takes no more than an hour and a half, the fatty hernia is carefully removed, we usually call it a "bag" under the eyes, the excess skin is cut off, and the problem of bruising under the eyes is removed. And if before the operation the patient still sees the world "from under his eyebrows" under the weight of the swelling of the upper and lower eyelids, then at the exit his gaze becomes open, youthful "upside down" and fresh.
Limited plastic eye surgery
And, contrary to popular skepticism, the natural shape of the eye after blepharoplasty does not change, the eye does not become artificially tense, as, for example, in Jocelyn Wildenstein. To achieve those results, you should at least exceed the "limits" of plastic surgery for a person, and should not exceed four of them. How many of them Jocelyn did not know, but she clearly went beyond what was allowed.
In general, plastic surgeons say that during surgery, the eyes are literally lengthened 1-2 mm - this change, as a rule, is not observed by the patient himself. But if they are constantly pulled and increased in size by 1 cm, they will certainly begin to reveal all the hidden secrets.
But at the same time, experts immediately emphasize that the effects of plastic eye surgery only last for 5-7 years. Therefore, most of the patients here are people over the age of 35 with age -related disabilities, which cause significant discomfort for a person.
Another important point: blepharoplasty does not smooth out wrinkles in the corners of the eyes, also called "crow's feet". Age-related changes are not the only indication for eye plastic surgery
However, age as an indicator for blepharoplasty is a relatively relative criterion, as young people often turn to plastic surgeons who require eye plastic surgery against a background of signs of premature aging in this area. Early aging of this zone in it may be due to the following reasons:
- a genetic predisposition to rapid aging or the formation of "bags" under the eyes;
- liver and kidney disease;

To perform the manipulation, the plastic surgeon rotates the eyelid, makes a millimeter puncture in its inside, called the conjunctiva, and removes the fatty hernia through it, which causes the formation of bags under the eyes. The puncture found on the mucous membrane is tightened immediately after surgery without additional intervention, as the tissue here grows back rapidly. Usually, after such an operation, the patient is sent out 1-1, 5 hours after the intervention.

Upper eyelid plastic surgery
Consider eye correction in the upper eyelid area. As a result, the "heavy" overhang is removed, excess skin is removed. For manipulation, the plastic surgeon makes an incision in the area of the natural fold located in the upper eyelid zone, after which he removes the excess skin cover, and, having opened access to the fatty tissue, he also removes it. The incisions are sewn here with internal stitches and special thin threads. As a result, in 1-2 months the scar becomes invisible even for the patient himself.
Plastic surgery on the lower eyelids and removes bruises and bags under the eyes
With blepharoplasty on the lower eyelid, an incision is made 1-2 millimeters below the lash line. During the operation, the surgeon first cuts off part of the excess skin, after which he opens and removes the tissue from the fat sac, which is a fatty hernia. Sometimes even lower blepharoplasty, on the other hand, does not remove fat storage, but a little extra food, evenly distributing it to the "bottom" zone.
After that, internal sutures are applied, which, as in the first case, after about 1-2 months fade completely and become completely invisible.
Round blepharoplasty
This is a simultaneous correction of the lower and upper eyelids.
Eye incision plastic surgery
This plastic eye surgery technique is very popular with people with Asian appearance. The intervention, also called cantoplasty, allows you to turn one fold of the upper eyelid, which is characteristic of the Asian population, into a double fold, similar to the one we have.
During an eye incision plastic surgery operation, the epicanthus (the overhanging feature of the skin folds in the inner corner of the eye) is removed with the simultaneous formation of double folds in the shape of a crescent. Excess fat deposits around the eyes are also removed.
But the appearance of Asians is not the only indication for plastic eye surgery, other than to improve the folds of the upper eyelids. With such an intervention, you can correct the shape of the eye, its incision, tighten the lowered outer corners. Cantoplasty is no more traumatic than other types of blepharoplasty.
Recovery period after plastic eye surgery
On average, the recovery period takes 2 to 6 weeks. People who are not smokers and follow all surgical recommendations after surgery can rely on the minimum time:
- for 7-10 days, patients must wear colored glasses;
- for about 10-14 days, you should stop wearing contact lenses in favor of glasses;
- avoid physical exercise, sudden movements, bending, this can trigger a ruptured seam;
- at least for a month you have to give up cosmetic procedures;
- makeup is allowed only 10 days after surgery.
